IMPORTANT: DISCLOSURE OF STATUTORY INFORMATION

BB Insure Short-Term Insurance Advisors (Pty) Ltd accepts full responsibility for its own actions and conduct at all times, as well as the actions of its representatives and employees, while they are acting in the course and scope of their employment and/or authorisation of the FSP.

BB Insure (PTY) Ltd confirms that we are not qualified appraisers, and if BB Insure (PTY) Ltd determines any value on a property or building, it is only an estimation of the value of the property.

INFORMATION ABOUT INSURERS

BB Insure (PTY) Ltd is a licensed FSP and may represent more than one insurer or service provider. We do not have a personal interest in any other Financial Service Provider.

COMMISSION AND FEES

BB Insure (PTY) Ltd receives commissions from various insurers. In accordance with the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Act 37 of 2002 A Short-term Insurance Broker may receive a maximum of 12.5% of the total monthly premium per month on a personal lines insurance policy and a maximum of 30% on a commercial insurance policy. BB Insure (PTY Ltd may also receive a 5% commission of the monthly premium which is noted as a broker fee for services provided to you in our capacity as a Financial Intermediary. However, the Broker Fee can ONLY be earned if agreed and accepted by you the client. All these amounts are calculated together with your monthly premium and will be reflected on your policy.

PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY COVER

The FSP holds professional indemnity insurance cover and is underwritten by AC&E insurance company. The limit of indemnity is R10, 000 000.

IMPORTANT:

  1. BB Insure (PTY) Ltd must and will inform you of any changes made to our information or that of our Compliance Officer.
  2. BB Insure (PTY) as the insurance broker must give you 30 days written notification of any changes to your policy or intentions thereof.
  3. If for any reason your insurance policy is rejected and or cancelled by the product supplier/ insurer they must give you a written explanation of the exact reason as to why.
  4. If you for any reason decide to cancel your insurance policy this should be done in some form of written communication and submitted to BB Insure (PTY) Ltd.

HOW TO SUBMIT A CLAIM

  1. Any claim should be reported to your insurance broker within 30 days. However, theft and hijack claims must be reported as soon as possible.
  2. Please ensure that you report any incident (Motor Accident/ Theft/ Burglary) to the nearest police station. If possible, ensure you obtain a copy of the incident report for record purposes.
  3. The relevant claim forms will be available for completion. After completion the claim form and all relevant documentation must be submitted to BB Insure (PTY) Ltd for processing. Please contact BB Insure (PTY) Ltd after any incident for a consultant to assist you on 015 110 0949
  4. Important: You might be asked to prove ownership of any lost items when an incident occurs (This might be in the form of an invoice, valuation certificate and/ or video/ photographic footage of the item)
    1. Never ever accept liability (Responsibility) in case an incident occurs.
    2. Please ensure that reasonable precautions are taken to minimize/ prevent the damage/ financial loss after an incident has occurred.
    3. Please remember that any proof of damage e.g. (photographic and or video footage) might proof invaluable in the event of a claim.
    4. All evidence concerning a specific incident should be kept and stored for record purposes.

COMPLAINTS:

If you have any complaints, please contact BB Insure (PTY) Ltd head office on 015 110 0949 for resolution.

If a complaint is lodged with the Ombudsman, please note that it first must be lodged in writing to BB Insure (PTY) Ltd. If the complaint cannot be resolved, you can contact the Ombudsman, preferably in writing.

ACCURACY AND COMPLETENESS OF INFORMATION

Please ensure that any information you provide to us regarding your short- term insurance policy should be accurate, complete, and fully disclosed. This will allow us to assist you efficiently and correctly. Please note that it will remain your responsibility to ensure that your information is complete and accurately disclosed. Failure to do so may result in claims being repudiated, financial loss or cancellation of your short-term insurance policy by the insurer.

WAIVER OF RIGHTS

The General Code of Conduct of the FAIS Act, provides that no individual private or juristic may ask you at any time to waive your rights as stipulated therein.
